The Human Body
I have been wondering about the wonder of the human body lately. It really is a medical wonder. The major systems in the human body are the circulatory system, digestive system, integumentary system, endocrine system, immune system, lymphatic system, muscular system, skeletal system, nervous system, reproductive system, respiratory system, musculoskeletal system, urinary system, vestibular system and endocannabinoid system. The number of systems alone amazes me because all these systems have organs and they are all inside our bodies co-existing. There are a few more exciting truths about the human body that I found amazing. It is said that the higher your I.Q., the more you dream. The largest cell in the human body is the female egg cell and the smallest is the sperm cell. You need 200 muscles just to take a single step. The height of an average woman is 5 inches shorter than that of an average man. Your big toes have two bones each while the other toes have three. A pair of human feet has 250,000 sweat glands. A full bladder is almost the size of a soft ball. The acid in your stomach is strong enough to dissolve a razor blade. The human brain cell can hold information 5 times more than the Encyclopedia Britannica. It takes the food 7 seconds to get from your mouth to your stomach. The average human dream lasts from 2-3 seconds. Men without hair on their chests are more likely to get cirrhosis of the liver than men with hair on their chests. There is about 1 trillion bacteria on each of your feet. Your body gives enough heat to boil one gallon of water in 30 minutes. The enamel on your teeth is the hardest part in your body. Your body can provide natural medicine to its own illnesses, in fact hgh or human growth hormone which is used for treatment of growth disorders and metabolism disorders is produced naturally in the human body.
